Start with choosing a business name- the fun part!

Pick a registered agent (or statutory agent) – a person who agrees to receive official documents on behalf of the LLC. can’t be a member of the LLC

Obtain a copy of your state’s LLC article of organization form – sometimes called the certificate of incorporation

Prepare an LLC operating agreement- not always required, but highly recommended!

Submit organizational documents to the state – prepare for filing fees and procedures may differ from state to state to get official certification of LLC

Meet tax and regulatory requirements – Employer Identification Number (EIN). business licenses, sales and employer taxes, etc.
